About me
Talk to me about reimagining mathematics education, especially for multilingual learners and students in historically marginalized communities.
I'm a dedicated educator and servant leader working at the intersection of language learning, equitable math instruction, and culturally and linguistically sustaining pedagogy. As a first-generation college graduate and former multilingual learner myself, I've lived the linguistic barriers many students navigate daily and that personal experience drives everything I do.
My mission is to rehumanize the mathematics experience: to make math a space of access, affirmation, and genuine possibility for every learner. I draw on ethnomathematics, systemic functional linguistics, and linguistically sustaining practices to approach this work through a fluid, expansive lens.
Whether you're an educator looking to better serve MLL students, a leader thinking about equity in instructional design, or someone passionate about honoring the brilliance of both teachers and learners, let's connect. This field is ever-evolving, and I'm always open to conversations that push the work forward.
